Volunteers/Fundraising
Volunteers
BE THE FIRST to shop the upcoming sale by registering as a volunteer! ANYONE can sign-up for a four-hour shift for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday during the event. As a reward for your time, you will receive a pass to shop the sale BEFORE non-volunteer consignors and the public, PLUS 70% commission on your sales if you are also a consignor. If you are a consignor and volunteer 8 hours or more, you will earn the maximum of 75% commission on your sales.
Volunteering is what helps make the sale a success all around. Not only do volunteers benefit by earning an extra commissions on their sales (if they also consign), but they also help to keep things neat, help speed up the checkout process, and contribute in other ways which help make our customers happy. And you know what they say...happy people make for happy shoppers WHO BUY MORE MERCHANDISE, which is especially important to those consignors considering a volunteer shift!
DON’T HAVE THE TIME TO COMPLETE A SHIFT?
If you cannot commit to volunteering for 4 hours during the sale event, we have barter opportunities where you can provide a service and receive early shopping benefits. These opportunities include but are not limited to distributing/posting flyers, advertising in company or group newsletters, or otherwise promoting the sale. We are open to your ideas and suggestions and will work with you individually on bartering opportunities. Please contact us at bbscloset@gmail.com for more information on bartering.

Fundraising
CALLING ALL FUNDRAISING CHAIRPERSONS!
Want a great opportunity to raise some funds for your organization with minimal effort?
There is no candy or wrapping paper to sell and no need to spend a day manning a booth or counter. You can use the things you already have: the toys, clothes, sports equipment, baby gear and other things that you and your members’ kids have outgrown and turn them around for cash.
Fundraising is great for organizations like:
- Clubs: Scouting, 4H, and/or service organizations.
- Sporting organizations: Youth football, soccer, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, just to name a few.
- Home-school associations
- Women’s associations: MOMS Club, Newcomers, Ladies Auxiliary
There are two programs that we offer:
These can be used individually or in combination.
FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
Option #1: A coupon is provided by B.B.’s Closet and then duplicated and distributed by the organization. The organization receives $5 for every $100 of merchandise purchased when someone brings in a special sale coupon.
Example: If 50 customers bring coupons to the sale and spend $100, then the organization earns: 50 x $5 = $250
Option #2: Organization members consign at the sale and donate their proceeds to the organization. If three or more members of an organization consign, they will earn 65% of their proceeds vs. the 60% that a typical consignor receives. Any consignor who also volunteers at the sale earns an extra 10%, or 75% total earnings.
Example: If each member who consigns sells an average of $150 of merchandise.
$150 x (65%) - $12 registration fee = $85.50
If ten members consign on behalf of the organization, that’s $855!!
** Any consignor who also volunteers will earn 10% more **
HOW IT WORKS
Option #1: This option requires the least amount of effort on the part of the organization members. Simply duplicate the coupon provided by B.B.’s Closet and distribute it to as many people as possible. Don’t forget to tell your recipients that this is your club/team fundraiser!
Option #2: Each participating member in your organization uses the guidelines on our website for preparing and tagging the items to be sold and then brings them to the sale during the drop-off hours. That’s it! We take care of the rest: the selling, advertising, insurance, and venue rental. Sellers don’t even have to come back for their items unless they want to. We donate all remaining items at the conclusion of the sale to local non-profit organizations.
Organization Member/Consignor Options
Each consignor determines the percentage of their earnings that will go towards their organization. The organization that a consignor chooses to donate some of their proceeds to must be registered with B.B.’s Closet as a fundraiser. Individual consignor contributions will remain confidential. One grand total check will be sent to the registered organization.
