Welcome Message from the Owners
We’re looking forward to the upcoming sale and invite you to join B.B.’s Closet as a new or returning consignor, volunteer and/or shopper! Now is a great time to check out B.B.’s Closet and help your family save or earn money. Many central NJ families in the area sell or buy at B.B.’s Closet because passing along gently used children’s clothing is great for your wallet and the environment! We are continuing to look at ways to improve our sales and as always, your ideas, suggestions and comments are welcomed, so drop us a note at bbscloset@gmail.com with your input. The Fall sale will be here soon, so start getting ready! See you at the sale!
Warmly,
Lori and John
Owners of B.B.’s Closet

Consignor Registration Fee
Due to increases in the facility/advertising costs, our consignor registration fee increased to $12 this year.

CPSIA Legislation in the Works Requires Greater Attention to Item Safety and Recalls

The US Government is safeguarding the health of children by considering specific legislation that affects the sale of children’s items. Clothing, toys, baby gear etc. may not contain lead in excess of limits set by the CPSC and must be safe. B.B.’s Closet will NOT sell items on the list of recalled items or that might contain lead. CONSIGNORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THE ITEMS YOU SELL ARE NOT RECALLED OR DEEMED AS HAZARDOUS BY THE CPSC and we’ve updated our consignor agreement to reflect your responsibility in this area.

Click here for more information from the CPSC website.

Item Limits

Due to the overwhelming amount of merchandise that we receive and given our growing number of consignors, we will be maintaining our limits for the number of items to 300 items per consignor. To allow for greater variety, we are also requiring that consignors be limited to bringing 5 duplicate or exact same items. We will continue to limit items in the maternity, shoe, and infant category in order to offer only your absolute highest-quality items. Each consignor is limited to 15 maternity items, 12 pairs of seasonal shoes (shoes that are attached and sold as part of an outfit are not counted in the limit), and 40 total infant items per gender in sizes 0-24 months. The infant limit does not include outerwear, swimwear, or sports/ dancewear. We will strictly adhere to these limits and continue to examine items very closely at check-in so that we continue to offer our shoppers only the best quality merchandise. To increase your sales as consignors, “Take only your best and leave the rest!”

Volunteers with Accompanying Children at their Shift

Children under 10 may not accompany volunteers during their shift. A child over 10 accompanying a volunteer does not count towards volunteer benefits.

Become a Volunteer and Sale Promoter and encourage others to do the same!
We could not run our sale successfully without so many dedicated volunteers. Many hands do make lighter work and even better, volunteering allows you to shop first at the B.B.’s Closet Preview Sale on Thursday evening. By coming into the sale an hour before others, you get first dibs on the best items. Anyone can volunteer – if you know someone who might like the opportunity to shop first and help out – please tell them about the sale and how to reach us. Also, we work very hard to get sale flyers to pre-schools, promote the sale through advertising, word of mouth, signs, etc. and we could use help with this too. If you have an idea for promoting the sale to more people and can help us with it, let us know and we may be willing to barter with you for a volunteer shopping pass!

Preview Sale Incentive
B.B.’s Closet knows that our volunteers are very important to the success of the sale. Since the Preview sale is one of our incentives for volunteering, we are introducing 2 new preview sale time slots for those volunteers who work 8 hours, 12 hours or at the preview sale. The preview sale for those volunteers working 12 hours or at the preview sale can start shopping at 3 PM and for those volunteers working 8 hours can start shopping at 4 PM. Please review the Volunteers page for all the information.

Scanning Tags at Check in

B.B.’s Closet may be scanning at least 5 different items to confirm that your tags can be scanned at check out. This new process is to ensure that your tags do not have to be manually entered when being purchased. Manual tag entering slows down check out and frustrates our customers. If your tags do not scan, you may need to reprint and reattach new tags to your items.

Random Bundled Item Inspections

B.B.’s Closet may be performing random inspections on bundled items. This will ensure that there are no inappropriate items within the bundle. There can be NO books with writing/scribbles or torn pages.  There can be NO inappropriate/distasteful subject matter printed on any item entered into our sale. It is unfair to our customers as well as your fellow consignors and will NOT be tolerated.

If an item is marked to be donated, the MYCM will automatically mark it discount for the half-price sale. This gives the consignor another chance to sell their items before they are donated. This will potentially increase your sales!
